As a child and young adult, I suffered from debilitating asthma. My lung capacity was so limited that I couldn’t fully participate in any recreational activities. Even joining a gym and taking aerobics classes in my twenties was a major challenge. For over a year, I remained in the back of the class, where I felt safe, but more importantly, close to my inhaler. I would try to keep pace with my classmates, often twice my age, but I struggled to make it a full 3 minutes without having to pause because of my inability to breathe.
Through sheer love of music, movement and consistency, my asthma gradually abated over many years. This personal determination and perseverance fueled a relentless hunger to know “what else can I do today? Let me find out.” This journey shaped my story and ultimately led me to become a multiple World Champion athlete in Kettlebell Sport.
But even more satisfying than that is bringing a personal, supportive, results-oriented approach to my personal training clients, of all levels.
I was introduced to Kettlebells in 2005 and soon began training for competitions in traditional Kettlebell Sport, a 10-minute endurance feat. My intention wasn’t to be a champion or a particular dress size, but simply to be better at whatever I was doing each day. After just 8 months of training, at the age of 42, I participated in my first international competition, winning Gold in my age category and Silver in the weight category.
Since 2007, I’ve won 7 World Championships, earned 8 MSIC (Master of Sport International Class) rankings, as well as World and National records with 16, 20, and 24kg bells.
This high-level competitive experience has instilled in me a deep understanding of what it takes to meet oneself where they are, and move forward from there, one step at a time.
There’s a long journey behind my story and I'm ready to help you with yours!
